Share Ellison Miles Geotechnology Institute (EMGI) is in partnership affiliation with the Science/Math Division, Brookhaven College, Dallas County Community College. As a GLOBE Partner we plan to serve as a networking and training facility for schools, ISDs, Educational Service Centers and the University of Texas Austin Texas Regional Collaboratives for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching across Texas ("the TRC"), primarily grades 5-12. Specifically, we believe that GLOBE fits in well with the EMGI mission of providing professional development in the geosciences for working science teachers in grades K-12. The EMGI currently has several programs which bring teachers into contact with working science professionals in industry; fields of study offered at the EMGI for professional development include geospatial technology, geophysics, geology, civil engineering, environmental engineering and materials engineering. All EMGI PDAs offer instruction from scientists who have been recruited and trained especially to work with teachers.
